1. Definition

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) aims to inform visitors and members about the privacy and security measures we have implemented concerning their personal information. It explains the methods we use to process, collect, store, and utilize personal information regarding visitors and members.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to clarify:

  • What personal data of PeopleCo visitors and members is collected,
  • For what purpose and in what manner it is processed,
  • The methods of collection and legal basis,
  • The purposes for which it may be shared with third parties.

3. Information Collected and Methods of Acquisition

At PeopleCo, we process the personal data of visitors and members in compliance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), applicable legislation, and decisions of the Personal Data Protection Authority.

In addition to identifiable information from members, aggregated statistics regarding visitors are also collected. For instance, general data such as the location of the computer used to access the PeopleCo platform and the source website of the user’s visit are automatically collected. This data is not used to identify individual users.

Besides automatically collected data, identifiable personal data is also required. This data includes personal identifiers such as identity, contact, and professional information, as well as photos and video records in shared content. Moreover, comments on content and records of conversations with PeopleCo employees (e.g., messages, comments, meetings) are also collected. When necessary, special categories of personal data may also be collected in compliance with applicable laws.

3.1 What is Personal Data, and Who Processes It?

According to Article 3 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“Law”), personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. As the “data controller” under the law, PeopleCo will record, store, update, process, disclose, and transfer your personal data in compliance with the law.

3.2 How and Based on What Legal Basis Do We Collect Your Personal Data?

Your personal data may be collected through online forms (e.g., contact, membership forms) on PeopleCo, submissions made on PeopleCo, authorized data processors, emails, phone calls, contracts, forms, or minutes kept on paper. These can be collected using automated or non-automated methods, verbally, in writing, or electronically, based on the conditions and legal reasons specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law.

3.3 For What Purpose Can Your Personal Data Be Processed?

Your personal data, collected by PeopleCo, may be processed for the following purposes under the data processing conditions stipulated in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK:

  • Ensuring that PeopleCo activities are carried out in compliance with relevant legislation and PeopleCo policies,
  • Offering and improving services for visitors and members,
  • Conducting product/service offers, announcements, advertising, promotions, sales, and marketing activities,
  • Performing development efforts tailored to the interests and preferences of our customers,
  • Ensuring legal and commercial security for PeopleCo, its affiliates, and related parties,
  • Facilitating communication and data sharing for the effective operation of services and PeopleCo platforms,
  • Complying with legal obligations arising from applicable laws,
  • Publicizing shared content on PeopleCo,
  • Reaching out to members via PeopleCo systems for information or document requests,
  • Reporting adverse effects (Adverse Events) to relevant authorities.

3.4 To Whom and For What Purpose Can Your Personal Data Be Transferred?

Your personal data, processed for the purposes outlined above, may be shared with:

  • Third-party service providers or consultants engaged by PeopleCo, such as IT firms, legal advisors, and auditors,
  • Public authorities and judicial bodies to fulfill legal obligations.

Data transfers comply with the principles outlined in Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK.

3.5 What Are Your Rights Under the Law?

As a data subject, you have the following rights under Article 11 of the Law:

  • To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
  • To request information if your personal data has been processed,
  • To learn the purpose of the processing of your personal data and whether it is being used in accordance with its purpose,
  • To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred,
  • To request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data,
  • To request deletion or destruction of personal data, where applicable,
  • To object to processing that exclusively relies on automated systems if it produces an adverse effect,
  • To claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing.

3.6 How Can You Exercise Your Rights?

You may exercise your rights by submitting a written request to PeopleCo or by using other legally recognized methods such as a registered electronic mail (KEP) address, secure electronic signature, or mobile signature. Requests should include:

  • Full name and signature,
  • Turkish ID number (or passport number for foreigners),
  • Contact information (email, phone, etc.),
  • The subject of the request.
